Against the backdrop of the need and urgency of supervision of Biblical ministry of Word by the elders, which churches within the Reformed Family place high value on, the mini-dissertation Supervision of Ministry of the Word sets guidelines for the elder or elder's council to assist them with their assignment/responsibility of supervision of the Biblical ministry of the Word. Heitink's model (with the incorporation of Janse van Rensburg's assessment) is the method of research. Accordingly, the hermeneutical, empirical, and strategical perspectives are: 1. To show the Scriptural perspectives of elders' responsibility to oversee Biblical ministry of the Word; 2. To provide perspectives from a literatur study that takes account of the contribution of adjoining disciplines in the role of supervision in contemporary society; 3. To offer perspectives from a literature study of supervising the biblical ministry of the Word during the worship service by the elders in the reformed tradition; 4. To research the extent to which elders oversee the ministry of the Word and whether there is a need for training related to this subject; 5. To present concrete guidelines to elders, to keep the ministry of the Word Biblical during worship service
